My Grandmother, Mercedes, died this evening. She would have been 98 years old next month.
I’m experiencing so many emotions at this moment, so I’m just going to be quiet and think of the beautiful, strong woman she was and not the weak, old, fragile women I just kissed goodbye in a hospital bed.
I love you, Granny.

Yvonne – What happy, vibrant pictures of her. She looks like she was a remarkable woman. I’ll bet she is very happy knowing how much your family loved her. I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m very sorry for your loss, Yvonne. Perhaps your abuela picked this as her time to leave, in order to make a little more room in this overcrowded world for the soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter I’m sure she loved very much.

My thoughts are with you and your family. I know you’ve mentioned her here so often, and there are so many good memories for you to keep her in your heart.
Our family has always seemed to lose someone dear around the time that a new child is due, and my gran always said that they were picked to be the guardian angel of the baby and had to go prepare for it.

I know this comment looks just like all of the others before me, but I’m truly sorry to hear about your loss. Tears come to my eyes just hearing about it, I guess because I have had a recent big loss of my own that was so hard. Hang in there, your Gabby now has her very own angel!

I’m sorry. I lost my grandmother just this past January, so I know how you must be feeling. Grandmothers are hard people to lose.

There is no reason to be sad, celebrate the 98 years this wonderful, beautiful and strong woman lived, and think of the years that Gabby will carry her memory on.

It’s hard to know exactly what to say to someone who is grieving. I’m going to suggest we steer away from “There is no reason to be sad” and stick with the old, trusty,”I am sorry for your loss”. You meant well, though, Robyn.

I am so so sorry for your loss…may her strength and beauty be passed to your own little Mercedes. God Bless you and your family.

I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother, hon. I only have one grandparent left myself and can only imagine how hard it would be to lose her.

I’m a little late, but I wanted to say I’m so sorry about the loss of your Grandma.
My dad just died the other day, and while its a completely different thing (in that I hated him!) I just wanted to send over a hug.

I’ve been away all week, so I just now read this.
I’m sorry, I hope time heals all aches and pains of losing someone so important. She lived a full life and had beautiful grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Hopefully, your daughter will inherit some of the wonderful qualities your grandmother had.
    Take care.
