On Monday, I attended a blogger event at the Warner Bros. studios in Los Angeles.
When we first arrived, I was greeted by friendly faces who were kind and helpful and who said very nice things like “free Starbucks for you!” I was informed that we’d be going on a VIP tour of the studio, which, cool, right? I’ve been to Warner Bros. studio before, but never knew they offered a tour. Well, they do and I was about to take the tour with a group of awesome bloggers, while sipping on my free latte. Best Monday Ever!
So, the tour. Basically, we watched a short video about all of the awesome movies and TV shows that have been filmed at WB studios. Then, we introduced to our tour guide, loaded into a tram and off we went. As our tour guide started naming off various shows that were taped there, I was reminded of how very little I know these days about shows that are not of the Reality Type. Seriously, I was all “But do you take The Bachelor here?” Because, The Closer? What? But, then, she started naming off shows that I used to watch and things got very interesting.
Do you remember the episode of Friends where they did the flash back to Prom night? And Ross is standing at the top of the stairs with flowers? We got to see that house and go inside of it. Oh, also, remember Central Perk?
There was a little bit of controversy about The Central Perk set. We were told we were not allowed to walk past the hardwood floor, which meant we couldn’t sit on the couch. Now, we’re bloggers, of course we wanted to sit on the couch and take pictures of ourselves on the couch and tweet those photos with the caption “just chillin’ in Central Perk. Don’t be jealous.” But, we were respectful bloggers who followed the rules. Later on, we saw pictures of other bloggers sitting on the couch and we were seriously like “WE WERE ROBBED, MAN.”
The main reason I was invited to this event was to learn about Warner Bros. new photo app called outmywindow. After the tour was over, we got to learn all about this new app.
What is outmywindow?
It’s photo sharing, photo storage and a camera (app) all in one.
There are already other photo apps out there and most people I know share their photos on Facebook, so what sets outmywindow apart?
Privacy. Plain and simple.
Other photo sharing sites do have privacy settings, but some of these settings can be complicated. Not to mention that some social networks can potentially license your photos to a third party. Oh, and not to mention sometimes? People can steal your photos and use them in false advertising type ad campaigns (says the person who has had this happen to her. Ugh.) outmywindow is intended for a more personal and secure way to share your photos. YOU get to choose who sees the photos. Bonus? It saves your photo in it’s original resolution.
You may be thinking “why would I want to sign up for another photo app?” And I understand where you are coming from. So many photos apps, so little time! However, I was able to try this out in Beta and I have to say, signing up was very easy, not a lot of information required (basics, such as name and email address.) It’s totally worth giving a try, especially if privacy of your photos is a big concern of yours.
The outmywindowapp is now available on iTunes. (If you’re a droid user like me, fear not! An android app will be available in the very near future.)

I am ALL KINDS of jealous. seriously.
