The One in Which I Talk About Diaper Bags.

Taking a newborn out of the house can be quite The Adventure. Making sure you have a well-stocked diaper bag will help make the experience of being out and about with the precious bundle of joy a lot easier. It’s a good idea to replenish your diaper bag each time you use it. This will avoid rushing when you’re trying to get out the door and then forgetting something important. Here is a list of the things you should always carry in your diaper bag.

*Diapers- It is my belief one can never have too many diapers. I would pack one diaper per hour you plan to be away and then maybe a couple extra. You don’t want to run out of diapers, trust me.

*Wipes- There are travel cases for wipes that work quite nicely, but you can also just use a zip-type baggie for wipes.

*Small bags for diaper disposal. Sometimes there isn’t a trash can available, so having these bags handy is a good idea.

*Diaper cream ointment.

*Changing pad- Sometimes you get stuck having to change the baby in less-than-ideal places. Having something soft and cushy to lay down is a must!

*Clothing- I recommend carrying a couple of changes of clothes. You never know when a Poop Up The Back or Puke All Over The Front accident will occur, and it’s best to be prepared. Don’t forget a couple of bibs!

*Bottles- If you anticipate more than one feeding while you’re out, bring extra clean bottles.

*Formula- If you’re using powder-based formula, be sure to bring a water bottle or three.

*Blanket or cover-up- I was a bit shy when it came to breastfeeding, so I always carried one to cover up with. However, it’s also a good idea to have something like that just in case you’re outdoors and there isn’t a shady spot available.

*Pacifier- If baby is using one, make sure you bring an extra one!
