Mary Kay Review Plus a Chance to Win Your Very Own Mary Kay Gift Basket!

I love beauty products. I love makeup and creams and scrubs. I especially love finding new products and sharing the things that I love with friends. I was totally excited when I was asked to be a part of a Mary Kay campaign because I knew that I’d be receiving some new products to try and share with you all.

The products arrived in a pretty black box with pink ribbon. Here is a list of what was inside of the box:

  • Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Golden Vanilla, Truffle, Lavender Fog, Midnight Star, Sweet Plum and Black Pearl
  • Mary Kay® Compact Mini
  • Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush
  • Mary Kay® Ultimate Mascara in Black
  • Mary Kay® Lash Love™ Mascara in Black
  • Mary Kay® Lash Love™ Waterproof Mascara in Black
  • Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus™ Lip Gloss in Mango Tango, Rock ’n’ Red and Café Au Lait
  • Mary Kay® Lash Primer
  • Mary Kay® TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Set
  • NEW Mary Kay® TimeWise Repair™ Volu-Firm™ Eye Renewal Cream

I have had enough time to try and use every product, and I have to say, I really do like them all, but there were a few products that stood out. My absolute favorite products were the NouriShine Plus Lip Glosses!

I’m picky when it comes to lip gloss. I hate glosses that are too thick or leave my lips feeling sticky. Let me tell you, these glosses are awesome. First of all, the colors are gorgeous (my favorite is Mango Tango). They are light, packed with moisture and go on super smoothly. Also? They’re super shiny. I love them and carry them everywhere with me. Because my daughter has the most amazing lips, I asked her if she’d be my Lip Gloss Model for this post. She hesitated at first, but when I agreed to let her put the lip gloss on all by herself, she happily agreed to participate.

Another product I love is the TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Set. I used it twice a week for the past few weeks and I absolutely notice a difference in the texture of my skin. My skin feels smoother and just generally more healthy. Unfortunately, I did not take a before photo, but here is what my forty-one-year-old skin looks like now.

I’ve also been using the TimeWise Repair™ Volu-Firm™ Eye Renewal Cream, and I do think my fine lines look somewhat diminished. What I love about this eye cream is the applicator– just press it directly on your skin and apply. Cool, yes?

I also love love love the Lash Love™ Mascara in Black. I used it with the Lash Primer and wow! Perfectly long, separated, non-clumpy lashes. It’s my new go-to mascara.

Another cool product is the Mary Kay Compact Mini. You can fit three eye shadows and one blush in it. You can also store the small brushes in the compartment in the back. I love that you’re not committed to the same three colors and that you can switch them out.

I’ve found several new products that I will continue to use in the future. Thanks, Mary Kay!

I am one of those people who do not wear full-faced make up everyday. I do wear it on special occasions, for meetings at work, on days when I just want to feel my prettiest…but on my average day I do not wear full makeup but there are two things I rarely go without:

    1. Moisturizer
    2. Mascara

I can live without eyeshadow, foundation, powder, blush etc but I can NOT live without moisturizer because I feel like an alligator without it…and Mascara because I feel it draws focus on my eyes. Those are my MUST DO beauty tips…even on the days I feel like a slouch.

Here’s my tip. I have very light color and thinning eyelashes. Mascara works, but due to the thinning of the lashes, it doesn’t always look great. So I use black eyeliner on the top eyelid to make it appear that I have more lashes than I do. I’ve always used the wax pencils, but recently bought liquid eyeliner and really like that better – just need to learn to apply it a little better.

I use a moisturizer under my makeup and switch out in summer months to wear a sunscreen under my makeup instead. It does the same trick and doesn’t dry my skin

My beauty tip(s) don’t cost anything – get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. Two night in a row of little sleep and it really shows on my face!

My beauty tip would be to apply sunscreen to the backs of your hands, every day. We all put in on our faces, right? Well, your hands will show your age, too.

Dry, damaged hair is not attractive. Try to skip blow drying your hair and use a leave in conditioner with sunscreen. Hair can get sun damage too!

I am very much a ‘less is more’ person. I do the very basics every day and save the full make up for weekends or going to dinner. Makes my mornings much smoother.

Greatest beauty tip I ever got? Get enough sleep, and your skin will automatically look better! That plus drinking water have been the ones I try to keep up on.

As I’ve matured, but lashes seem to be thinner. To make my eyes pop, I curl my lashes first, then apply a very light layer of a “Fuller” mascara. Once it is dry, I follow it up with a layer of “Lengthening” mascara. This method really makes my lashes really stand out, so I don’t mind buying two mascaras with different formulations.

I love the Mary Kay TimeWise products!! My beauty tip is this: even if you have oily skin (like me!), you should still use moisturizer every day, even in the summer. If you deprive your skin of moisturizer, your skin will produce MORE oil to compensate. That is the opposite of what I want!!!

    Thanks for the give-a-way!

I put a vinegar chamomile tea rinse on my hair after washing it. Leaves it shiny, enhances highlights, and tangle free. Everyone notices beautiful hair!

Greatest beauty tip: don’t stress. Stress is so hard on skin and can prematurely age you.

Oh, forgot about my beauty tip : )
Consistency. That’s my miracle treatment. Once I find products which work to keep my skin looking it’s best, just keep it up! It seems that no matter what the change (increase/decrease frequency, add/remove product, etc), always seems to have a negative effect. So I just make sure that I follow my skincare routine as directed and if I want to use different products, I taper them in and out of my regular routine.

I am always in the market for good make up. I love the idea of the mini compact. Great to carry with me and do small touch ups, especially if I go from work to a night out.

Love Mary Kay! I have been wearing it since I was 19. I love their mascara. It is a must have in your makeup bag. The waterproof mascara is the best for weddings (in case you are a cryer like me!)

I love Mary Kay I but don’t get to try to many of the new products due to a limited budget. I will never skip the two vital steps to protecting my skin and keeping it youthful, moisture (drinking water and moisturizer) and sunscreen.

The best beauty tip – at least for those of us over 40 – is a good night’s sleep. I look at least 5-10 years younger when I am rested!

As we age we need to exfoliate two to three times a week. Our skin does not ‘let go’ of old dry skin cells as fast as babys. So for soft skin, exfoliate!

My favorite beauty tip is to put a little white eyeliner along the inner corner of the eyes to make them appear bigger.

The greatest beauty top I’ve learned is put on a moisturizing mask before putter on makeup. You skin will absorb the foundation much better.

I have two tips that have worked best for me. Get plenty of sleep and when using a new product do a little test first to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction.
