If You Read My Blog, CHECK THIS.

I read on a few blogs that today is “Delurking Day.”
I did it last year and had every intention on writing every single person who came out of hiding to comment back.
That didn’t happen. Partly because I’m a quitter, but mostly because I didn’t expect so many people to participate.
I still have all of the emails saved because I still have this dream that I’m going to respond– but I think it’s time I admit that I failed you, Oh (former) Lurkers and I am sorry.
And even though I suck and didn’t respond to every single comment last time, I’m going to go ahead and do it again this year. If only because I sincerely LOVE to hear from the people who read here every day. Does that make me an asshole?
Don’t answer that.
Anyway… If you read this blog and have never commented, I would love to hear from you today.
Why, hello, Horse.
Random Horse is all “COME ON… SAY-AAAY-AAA-AAY SOMETHING.”

I’m maybe a half-assed lurker, because I read everyday but comment only… oh, say, every three months. But I’ll delurk because it’s been probably 2 years since you’ve commented at my blog (I’m not saying this to be a whiner! Although I am a world-class whiner! I used to be on your blogroll, then moved around, and … bla bla, you know, the usual) and uhm… yeah. Hi! I hope you’re having a good day!

  2. Jeannie

Hi Y! Yes, I am one of the lurkers. I sincerely have to say that I admire you for your honesty and courage in “putting yourself out there”. I hope that with this last doctor’s visit you are on your way to a happier, healthier you! I too struggle with weight issues and know the highs and lows that go along with it. Good luck and best wishes!

  3. joy

I found you again and now you are in my bloglines, so you are now trapped in my memory forever:) I’m coming to visit MA next month on Feb 8-13….maybe I’ll see you!

  4. trailin'

I read pretty much all of the time, and comment sometimes.
And by the way, I’m in there too about posting pictures of all of my weight gain…yuck =[ And of course, when I finally decide to do it, I have a Canon Rebel XTi that shows EVERYTHING in those 10.1 MP. = As opposed to my little P&S Kodak where I could have hidden a few things.

  5. shaz

i wouldn’t call myself a “lurker” necessarily, but i don’t really comment, although i do enjoy your writing! i hope you feel better Y!

  6. cricket

just found you the other day, when i leapt back into the blogging pond after a hiatus…lurking through your archives a bit, don’t mind me… 🙂

  7. Rachel

Recently, thanks to Google Reader recommendations, I found this blog. Apparently Google Reader thinks I only read mommy-blogs, and, pshaw, they’re totally right.

  8. Jen

I’ve lurked much, commented none…until today of course – Thank you for being so much like me! (And your pictures are phenomenal!)

  9. Christina

Wait, I take it back being a lurker. I added you to my myspace, but don’t comment. Does that qualify?

  10. Juju

I’m a fairly new visitor here but have been enjoying your blog very much for the last few weeks – though I have also been quite concerned at times! I don’t comment often on any of the blogs I read but it’s nice to have an excuse to say ‘hi’ and wave from the UK 🙂

  11. Lindsey

Hi there! Complete lurker here. I almost de-lurked on the cookie dough post but, damn, CRIPES, your readers are passionate about that topic, and I had nothing substantial to add- so consider this my official comment! Love your blog!

  12. Angela

Crawling out of my dark little lurking corner to say- Hi!
(I think I’ve only commented here maybe once, and on your flickr pictures a few times.. so I guess that does constitute lurking.)
Hope you manage to find some relaxing time to do something for yourself over the weekend (in the midst of the almost-chickenpox- actual staph infection schtuff.)

  13. Sarah

Delurking today for the first time since I started reading you in about 2004! Love your blog and it makes me laugh. That and it makes me feel not so bad about being the gaseous one in my family.

  14. AmyM

Well, I’m not a lurker. I can’t keep my mouth shut long enough to be a lurker.
But I’ll comment anyway. Because I can.

  15. Erin

Ooh, I didn’t know it was delurk day! I’m not sure if I’ve ever commented or not, but I’m definitely a regular lurker! Hi! 🙂

  16. Rhi

You have just made me realize how much I love Mr. Ed. I really should go home and watch an episode. Hmm, wonder if it’s on DVD.

  17. oceanbug

I comment now and then but I am a loyal reader,
does that make me a lurker????
I think a whole bunch of us “lurkers” spoke up on the raw cookie dough thing.

  18. oceanbug

I comment now and then but I have been a loyal reader since youi began this blog.
does that make me a lurker????
I think a whole bunch of us “lurkers” spoke up on the raw cookie dough thing.

  19. Lucy

I read often and comment only very rarely, so I guess that means I can comment today! Hope you guys are getting healthier and that no one else gets sick.

  20. luckybuzz

I lurk here. I don’t think I’ve commented. I was just thinking that it was too bad that delurking day only happens once a year…but I guess it doesn’t. Good news! 🙂
    /relurking

  21. Lori

Hi Y! I’ve commented before, but have actually dumped my blog to blog heaven (or hell, as may be the case). No more blogging for me, but I do enjoy reading yours every day!
And I can’t believe I did this, but the other day I was talking to someone, and I said, “that happened to a friend of mine”, meaning you! I do feel like your friend because of your blog, so…thanks!

  22. Stefanie

You rule Y! Thanks for sharing your stories, personal struggles, triumphs and bodily functions ;o)

  23. Kirsten

I’m sort of a half ass lurker too – I’ve commented before, but I’m mostly a silent reader. I love your blog, your honesty, and your humor – I think you’re hilarious! Much love to ya Y 🙂

  24. Melissa

I’ve only been lurking for a week or two, based on how I followed the rabbit-trail to find you. But I’m glad today is Delurker Day because I’ve been wanting to post about lurkers for a long time, and this is just the incentive I need!
By the way, thanks for your honesty and the lively way you write about your life.
    ~M

  25. Carley

Hello there! I read you everyday, but am always to shy to say anything. But, thanks for sharing your ups and downs and for making me smile on a daily basis!

  26. Justine

  27. Susie H

Ok, OK, delurking here, to say I can’t remember how I found the blog, but I was hooked from the very first post I read :). You’re a wonderful storyteller!

  28. Ryles

    Hi Y!
I’m a lurker.. My sister loved you and put you on her blog roll.. and you are on my top 5 favorite blogs to read.. (in no perticular order!)
I just wish you posted more often.. i mean geez.. does your family really need you?? There are more of us.. so we should get more of your attention!! hehe..
I meant to comment the other day..(and glad i didnt because that would mean i wouldnt be able to comment today!! )
But dont stop talking about your medical problems.. hasnt talking about them solved the problems?? your readers are amazing and always help you with things… whether your worried about your hair falling out or being a bad mom by not letting your baby eat cookies dough.. tisk tisk..
every kid needs a little dough in her life!!
Oh.. and Happy Delurking day? Did your husband remember to buy you flowers? 🙂

  29. Cassie

I think I’ve commented a couple of times, but I figured it’d only be right to say Hi!! I love reading your blog. You are a wonderful person who makes me (a complete stranger) smile on a regular basis. Thanks for that!

  30. Nikki

I am de-lurking in hopes of gettin me some Y de-lukin luv!
I have been reading your blog for a while now and have to say I just adore your bean dip eating, aerobic, gassy, adorable, great mommy, wonderful self!

  31. Debbie

Hi, I’m Debbie. My google reader suggested you earlier this week, so I’ve been reading your recent posts. Re/ the cookie dough – I used to nanny for a mom who was very obsessive about safety and refused to allow cookie dough. Her daughters had life-threatening allergies to dairy, egg, and peanuts, so she was extra careful for good reason, but in any case: you are not alone. Don’t bother visiting my blog (not that you aren’t welcome to if you feel like boring yourself) – I read blog posts more often than I write my own, and it’s not exactly an interesting blog just yet. 🙂

  32. Lara

Hey Y! Lurker delurking here. I’m Lara, 18 from England, and love your blog.
Since I am here and writing, just to say I love your blog, your style of writing makes me laugh, and you & your family are gorgeous!

  33. Tami

You are not a ass hole. You did respond back to me when i was lurking and I am still a reader almost every day. I still love your cute self and family

  34. Justagirli

Hey Y! Love your Blog! I have been without internet for some time now and as soon as I got online I went straight to your Blog and immediately added it to my favorites. Now would someone like myself ever add an ass to their favorites? I don’t think so 🙂

  35. Becky

Hi, sometimes I lurk, sometimes I comment. But here I am saying howdy. I think you’re fabulous and amazing, and you make me wish we could hang out and drink Starbucks.

  36. Andrea

    Hello from Sydney!!
Just a quick one to let you know that I’m a lurker who has never shown her face on the comments page 🙂
    Love reading about your family!!

  37. Margaret

Love your writing – identify with your struggles – I had a surprise baby 21 years ago! I also have thyroid problems “are you sure you’re not depressed?” is what I heard all the time until my heartrate went crazy fast & I had a true medical workup. I had breast cancer 6 years ago & am doing fine now, but take meds that SLOW my metabolism. I go to WW and lose about 1 pound per month & long to mercilessly beat those rapid losers. Instead I smile & go home to my husband who is crazy in love with his fat old wife.

  38. Jennifer

Delurking to say that I read you often and very much enjoy your blog. I’m glad that your thyroid problem has been correctly diagnosed and I hope you will soon be on your way to a happier, healthier you!

  39. Janssen

Don’t think I’ve ever commented and I wouldn’t have today if you’d asked some question like “tell me your favorite movie.” Then I would have slunk away because I can never answer simple questions like that.

  40. JulieK

Delurking to say hello! I love your writing and your sense of humor, and I think your pictures are great! Keep up the good work!

  41. Roxanna

Love your blog, love the piccies, love it all!! First time commenter here, but maybe I’ll delurk some 🙂

  42. Tina

I don’t know if I’ve commented or not–usually I’m too lazy to leave the feed reader to comment. BUT, I love your blog, love your honesty and have felt your pain. I was so happy at your being able to move (oh, I think I commented to tell you that) and VERY happy you’re getting treatment for the thyroid!

  43. Laura in Michigan

I love your blog. I am really glad you got your thyroid problem diagnosed , and that you will be feeling better (trust me, I have no thyroid due to cancer, so I know..!!) REALLY soon. You are going to be so perky, you won’t know what to do with yourself. Watch out, pighunter!

  44. Mischa

Hi! I love you! Is that creepy? Your stories are funny, your writing is witty, and every time you regale us with a churchy childhood tale, I laugh and cry in commiseration for I too am a Preacher’s Kid with a plethora of childhood photos in which I am posing in a floor-grazing dress while deep in prayer (you know, to avoid the demonic forces that were sweeping over the church look for a hypocrite to possess.) How’s that for a delurking, run-on comment?

  45. Tracey

I love ya ’cause you’re real. Keep it up, and I’ll keep lurking. Lurking’s not a good word for it, though, because blogs are out there on the web to be read, right? I would only be lurking if it was a closed forum-type thing. I’m just sayin.

  46. kelley

I read daily, comment rarely, and lurk mostly. I even remember getting an email from you last year for delurking (I may or may not have saved it because I thought it was so cool to get an email from you…..). Thank you for being willing to share the intimate details of your life with a bajillion strangers!

  47. Bekki

Lurker here, but no blog, so yippie! No need to come and comment.
BTW a friend of a friend passed along a story of a mom in her kindergaten class who brought cookie dough, homemade and still in the bowl, as a snack. While I don’t have a particular problem with cookie dough per se, even I have a problem with that LOL The story made me think of you!

  48. Debbie

I read every day, but I’ve never commented before. I know what it’s like to get overwhelmed with things you’d LIKE to do but don’t have time/energy for, so no need to email me back. I’ll continue reading every day anyway. 🙂

  49. Rebecca

    Delurking! Love you!
I live in the same city that you do (I assume you still live in the same city since you moved, just in a different part) so I always keep my eye out when I am at Target or Costco or the park or the grocery store to see if I run into you. I would love to meet you.

  50. alimomof2

I won’t call you an a$$h0le for not e-mailing me last year when I delurked since I haven’t commented since. I love you and your site. Belated congratulations on your new digs (even though your JUST a renter – whatever THAT means!) and new job. And I am happy you finally got a diagnosis. Hopefully relief will be on the way.

  51. alimomof2

  52. carolyn

    HI Y!
I lOVE reading your blog. I was THRILLED last year when you e-mailed me after de-lurking day!! You’re a blogging rock star!
By the way, I talked to a patient(I’m a nurse) today who recommended a book by the author Mary Shalom(spelling?) She wrote a book called Living Well With Hypothyroidism.

  53. rozie

Hi! I think I may have commented once or twice before, but I’m no regular by any means. Love your posts, love your pictures. I just started doing a daily photo challenge on flickr because I’m a dork and I love it when people post pictures so I figure I might as well too.
    YAY.

  54. Lisa

hmm. I might have commented once but I really can’t remember, and commenting now is a lot better than going upstairs for the fifteenth time to tell the three munchkins ITS BEDTIME and to STOP yelling my name. So, here it is, a comment, and I do love to read your blog!

  55. MamaLee

You know, I used to comment on your blog every now and then. You’ve never responded.
I still come and read, though.
I hope you find time to respond to some of your readers. I’m sure it’s hard, with so many of us. And yes, I’m a little jealous!
    Take good care.

  56. Helga

I love this blog! You are inspiring…I love your honesty and openness! Keep up the gorgeous pictures and prose…

  57. Jen

Delurking! I’ve commented, but very infrequently. You’re still on my list of must-read blogs, even though I rarely stop by to say anything.

  58. Beth

Hi! I’m “de-lurking” I guess….I’ve commented before, but I do read you every day. I think you are hilarious!
    I hate lurkers

  59. Gina

Delurking. I considered posting weight loss photos and was mad at myself for not doing so after the 35 pound loss. Now that I’ve gained it all back, not so much.

  60. Liz

I am a total lurker. Damn that always sounds so perverted to me! “Luuuuuuurker” *wink, wink*
Anyway–love your blog and most of all your honesty. Thanks!

  61. mollie

I don’t comment much but I love you and have since I was 15. 4 years! You always make me laugh and are the cutest person ever!
Thanks for always posting pics of your daughter…I am so happy to watch her grow up and I know I am not the only one!

  62. Carole

Yep, that’s me…I’m a lurker…I grew up in So. Cal and am dying to know what city you’re in…I was in Laguna Niguel…I look for your post everyday and think you’re the edgiest (is that a word) mom-writer around…and that is a compliment. You rock.

  63. Jaime

I read everyday. I think you are a wonderful, funny person. You are a great mom and love how sincere and honest you are.

  64. Kelley

I comment occasionally. But seeing I just posted this on my blog I can’t deny you your comment crack.
Puff up those veins baby, looks like you gotz yourself a haul!

  65. apricoco

hi, i’m a lurker. i’ve been a lurker for 2 years now. (this is the part where the group would respond in unison “hi lurker”) i hardly ever comment on most blogs i read (about 30 or so regularly). does that make me a bad person? well i enjoy your blog very much and all the religious upbringing stuff? brings tears to my eyes.
So hello from sunny South Florida. =)

  66. Mrs. A

    Love, love, love your blog!
I commented only when I participated in the book contest-thingy you had — don’t know why I don’t comment more often because I can relate to sooo many of your posts.
I loved when you wrote about living with your parents (and thank you for telling me how one deletes cookies in one particular entry, becasue, well, one needs to know these things when one is sharing a computer).
Your blog is a joy. 🙂

  67. The Over-Thinker

I love your blog and your honesty and your photographs and the fact that you say things like, “Does that make me an asshole?” For right now, my answer is no. If I don’t receive an e-mail, I reserve the right to change my answer.
All kidding aside, your blog is one of my very most favorites! I found it about a year ago, linked from The Cheeky Lotus.

  68. Y

    Speaking of the book contest.
Um. I NEVER MAILED THE BOOK.
    See? I AM an asshole.
*puts it in my car to mail tomorrow*

  69. Bunny

I read, I lurk, I comment every now and then. I love you and think you are such a great woman for sharing so much of your own insecurities with us. I relate to so much of what you say. And after this whole thyroid thing, I just want to give you a big ol’ hug and tell you that you know your body better than anybody and that those doctors need to LISTEN to you already.
It;s ok if you don’t email me back..it’s a lovely thought, but you are just the queen of Teh Internet with so mnay royal subjects, you couldn’t possibly entertain writing so many emails.

  70. Chris

Delurking to say hello- I read every day and love love love you! I keep thinking I should start a blog but chicken out every time. There is no way I could be as funny and fantastic as you. 🙂
    Mom of 3 in Seattle

  71. Kari

I just found your blog a few days ago, but I have added it to my favorites and will be back to visit regularly.

  72. mitra

I love your blog! I’ve been reading it for about a year.
I’ve wanted to comment, but your blog always thinks I’m spam. I am not spam! I’m a human being, damnit!
    xo,
    Mitra

  73. Beth

I read your blog regularly (and secretly will you to put up new posts if it’s been a while) and comment from time to time. Anyway…hi! 😉

  74. jen

    HIII!!
I don’t think I’ve ever commented, but I’ve been reading for years. I can’t even remember how I found you.

  75. Bill

    I’m a picker, I’m a grinner, I’m a lover And I’m a sinner I play my music in the sun. I’m a joker, I’m a smoker, I’m a midnight toker, I sure don’t want to hurt no one. (I’m also a lurker…. not much rhymes with lurker except for jerker and …well I guess I’m that too)

  76. Lorraine

I love reading your blog and have been doing so for over a year? This is my first time commenting, so I guess that’s called “delurking” (I’m guilty of “lurking” on a lot of sites)

  77. Krissy

Hi Y! I visit your site daily. When there’s a new post I do a little happy dance and squeal a little because I LOVE reading this blog. You have a lot of talent and you see the humor where many don’t and for those things I admire you greatly. You are my blogging hero!

  78. firewings

Always read, never comment. I don’t think. I get blurry about things like that.
[That is, my mind does. I do not actually phase in and out of visions; that would be a neat party trick though.]
I did see you at Blogher but I was far too intimidated to say hi to the Real Blogger. Eeeii.

  79. Kristin

Delurking 🙂 One of my new years resolutions was to delurk on all my fav blogs so here goes! 🙂
Love you, and your writing. So honest, fresh and damn funny!

  80. Chrissy

Delurking over here. I have been reading here for over a year now but have yet to leave a comment. I live in Las Vegas and have three kids two boys and a girl. I also know all about the belly fat and the love for bean dip.

  81. WinoJen

Hi! Yes, I am a lurker & 1st time commenter. Found you through Cheeky Lotus (still devastated!) & love reading of your fantastic family. I guess “lurker” is better than “voyeur?” Cheers!

  82. jenna

delurking, just for today. i love your blog, you and your kids are hilarious! i don’t have kids but your take on motherhood makes me think i might have something to look forward to. thanks for the entertainment!

  83. Ryan

Read everyday, don’t comment often. I have been hooked since the day you wrote about your panties being eaten up during aerobic dance. Oh my gosh! Funniest thing I ever read. EVER!!! It still makes me laugh!

  84. Tracy D

Delurking to say Hi! Hola! Howdy! Ummm…. thats all I got. I love your blog and read it every day. I don’t think I have ever commented before though. And I honestly don’t remember how I found you. Thanks for being so open and honest about your life and troubles and, well, everything!

  85. Karen

one lurker here also, havent had the guts to comment because it seems that everytime i do it they just block me out completely
i admire you because you are honest, you are brave and you are so great, you have an awesome family and you are authentic.
Well, got back to lurking until next year

  86. Jen

Delurking and looking forward to belly fat pictures b/c I’m going to be taking some of my own today. And Measurements. Should be a fun day at my house today. Wheee!
I just got back from the dr yesterday and gained an ASTOUNDING amount of weight. I’m also hypothyroid but under control, it’s my eating that has issues.
So I’m starting to lose weight, starting today. Starting again. yay.

  87. sally

    Hey lady,
I’ve commented before, but I wanted to say hi. I thought of you yesterday when I found out I’m having the “unexpected” baby girl at forty one.

  88. Jackie B

I’m a Lurker. I don’t have a computer at home so I’m a bad employee who comes into work each morning and checks my favorite blogs. Your on my list!

  89. Tricia

    hi kelly!
    (right, thats what you do?)
ok anyway… Y you rule. I read your blog everyday but never comment cuz. Well I have no answer for that. Chicken? Perhaps. Lazy? You bet your ass.
P.S. Regarding yesterday’s post. Please don’t EVER censor yourself. Cuz then my life would be dull and drab –and you dont want that. now, do you?

  90. Tricia

    hi kelly!

  91. Megan

Delurking also. A SAH mom with a 2year old daughter who has you bookmarked and clicks on your blog multiple times a day. My weight has been creeping up to 200 (never thought I’d let myself get there and breastfeeding for 18 months did not help me loose weight – the liars!) and your posts about wanting your daughter to have both a healthy relationship with food and a healthy body image really resonate with me. I also look back to all the years when I was a healthy weight and truly thought I was fat – and just cringe that I have spent 25 years thinking about this.

  92. Anna

I check for updates every day. Sometimes multiples times. I don’t think I’ve ever commented though.
You’ve inspired me to Dance Aerobically, but I promise I will never be as talented at it as you are.
    Thanks for bringing the funny!

  93. Sherry

Somehow – I missed this last night when I was checking the blogs I read (for the second time just in case anyone other than me doesn’t have a life and has updated since I read it earlier in the day)!
Anyway – long time lurker, first time commenter.
Thanks for the fabulous blog – always honest, usually funny, always worth reading.
Also – beautiful pictures – always – you do much better at taking them than you give yourself credit for. REALLY. Stop that! (stop getting down on yourself – not the taking pictures part. )
    Thanks!

  94. Hannah

I have commented before. So I’m not a lurker. So you don’t have to make any promises to me. But if you’d stop by my place and say hi, I’d be thrilled. Because my current comment record is seven (woo, I know, SEVEN) and I’m really putting the push on to “break eight in ’08”.

  95. Joy

I think I commented for the first time a couple days ago on your thread about chicken pox. I enjoy your writing sooooooo much. I’ve been lurking for over a year, I believe.

  96. Rebecca

I’m a lurker on most blogs that I read. Only twice have I commented…ever. It’s not that I don’t love you (if I didn’t, I wouldn’t read every day), I just feel like I have nothing to add to your brilliance. You make me laugh so hard I want to cry. Not to mention, everything you write is real. All I can say is, it’s awesome.

  97. Mariluz

I’ve been reading you since “Aged and Confused”, don’t remember if I’ve commented before…even got my own blog now! 🙂

  98. wintor

I check your site every. single. day. but i never comment cause i suck. But i love reading you so does that cancel my suckiness out?

  99. Amanda Warner

I’ve been reading you for a few years now Y, and I have never commented (except maybe in my head). But, you should know that I love your blog, and you make me feel not alone and all sorts of other nice things. So there is my de-lurking self for ya. 🙂

  100. beth

ive commented before but im doing it again 🙂 gosh i cant believe ive been reading since right after ihad my 1st daughteR!

I read this blog and have never commented. I think – can’t remember shit! But I think you’re cool and funny and now I will wait for your reply!! ha! Have a great day!!

  102. Vicky

I’ve been checking in ever since a friend linked the story of the todder wanting to wipe your pagina in Kohl’s. I enjoy reading your blogs, very funny!! I don’t know if I have commented you before or not?

  103. Courtney

    Well, since you asked…
Here I am. I find you hi-larious, and your family is precious. You seem like a great mom and I love reading about all of the crazy stuff that goes on in your life.
I would blog, but I am just not that funny and nobody would care about what I have to say.
Thanks for being so honest about everything – it really does brighten my day when I find that you’ve written a new post.

  104. grammice

I read faithfully, but was so busy at work I couldn’t comment on delurking day. Does this count LOL?
Glad not Chicky pops, sorry it was/is staph.

  105. Angel

Another lurker, delurking late. I love your blog and have read it for probably 2-3 yrs. I think you have great talent with writing and I love your photos! Take care

  106. Angie

Delurking to say I love your blog and your pics. We have a lot in common. I have been married 17 years and have kids the same ages as yours (except for the unexpected one – I didn’t get one of those:)

  107. Amy M.

I have only commented on a couple of things…important stuff like…cookie dough! But I’m here and I check your blog faithfully! AND I spent my xmas vacation reading your archives and I only have 1 more year to read before being all caught up! I realize it’s not the most productive use of my time but I certainly enjoy it!!!

  108. tracie

I love the blog- have only commented like, twice…..single mom of two kids- texas- one is a senior this year- and I do not know how I will make it when she leaves for school in the fall. My boy is almost 15 and a freshman.

  109. Lauren

Okay, you got me. I read your blog all the time and love it. I’ve never commented before but I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading it and how funny I think you are! Thank you!

  110. justmylife

I thought I had commented before, but maybe I haven’t, who knows. Guess you will be busy if you email back all of your commenters. HA! Love your blog.

  111. angie

I read every single day, but very seldom comment simply because by the time I think of something witty to say, it’s already been said and I feel/look stupid just repeating what others have said! I’m a dork that way, I guess.

  112. lei

i read every single day, sometimes more than that lol. i also cant get enough of your flickr pics. you are extremely talented! keep it up.

  113. wifey615

I read everytime you post thanks to your feeder…love hearing about your daily drama as it so closely matches my own.
I don’t comment, because I want it to be really funny, but alas, I’m not

  114. Leigh

I check 4 blogs every day: Fussy, Finslippy, LookyDaddy, and YOU! I love the photos you take and your honesty, my heart hurts for the hurts you have survived, I devour your stories of family and personal medical maladies (keep them up – or else how will we know to check our thyroids or medicate our staph infections!!?), and I *delight* in your wit and SMART humor!! Escape ghosts – priceless. Happy delurking day. xo!

I’m going to be comment #241…surely I won’t get lost in the shuffle.
I think my blog would explode if I got this many comments during the year!
I love your blog and your pictures. I was very happy to hear that YOU figured out where your health problems were coming from. It caused me to go to the thyroid web page you suggested and I was amazed to see that my thyroid is apparently quite out of whack. I’ll be seeing my doctor in a couple of weeks and I’m going to be bringing my print out of thyroid symptoms with me.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Oh no! I think my comment got lost.
Basically, dunno if I’ve commented here before. I intended to but may have chickened out.
So now? I’m commenting. And I wrote a much better one originally but the internets ate it.

  120. Julie

Hi, Y! I’ve been reading your blog for awhile (a year? more? not sure really), but I think I’ve only commented once. I always love reading what you have to say. Thanks for being so honest with everything you write about. You are a very talented writer and photographer!

  121. bj

OK…I’m a creeeeeepy lurker. Not really. I’m a Texas soccer mom that thinks you are hysterically funny. I’ve been reading you for about four months now. Keep the stories coming!

  122. Holly

Hi! I live in Berkeley and I’ve been reading your blog for a couple weeks. I posted a comment once, on the pictures you posted from your new camera. I don’t have an SLR, and I’m pretty sure my picture-taking skills will never justify getting one, but seeing your pictures made me tempted. Are you SURE getting an SLR doesn’t make you an awesome photographer? Were you just born with that skill, or what?

  123. DeeDee

Hi Y. I found your blog one day after googling bean dip. Yep, I’m a weirdo but aside from that I’m a fellow beandipaholic just like you. I think I was subconsciously looking for some sort of support group but found you instead!! I love your site and check it every single day to see if you’ve posted anything new. Your honesty is wonderful and what keeps me coming back for more!!

  124. Jason

Holy cow…err…horse!!! You have a lot of comments. I’ll add my greeting to the stack. Thanks for visiting us. Come again. We’ll come back and visit you.

  125. WendyB

Professional lurker here…sometimes I merely don;t comment as to not be another “me too”-er, but I really enjoy your blog – thanks for the laughs, the insights and the pix. Hope you are still loving your camera…it’s on my to buy list!

  126. Erika

I just started reading recently and for some awful reason my work is blocking your site so I haven’t been able to comment yet. Thank goodness for Google reader. I have to say while I’m sorry about your diagnosis, I am so thrilled for you for BEING RIGHT!!!

I think I’ve commented a few times, but maybe not. Usually by the time I get here there are already 60 bajillion comments, and I feel unworthy 😉

I have been reading your freakin’ hilarious blog for about a year. I have half my office reading it now. Blog on, dude!

  129. Niki

I have commented about 6 times in the 7 years I’ve been reading blogs. But you deserve a de-lurk. You’re phenomenal and honestly if the MacBook battery wasn’t about to die I’d tell you why!

  130. Zesstra

Hi Y! I’m a complete lurker. I check you site for updates every morning at work (while drinking my Starbucks). It is a great way to start the day!
Thanks for writing an awesome blog!
    ~Zesstra

  131. Claire

Hi! I’ve commented a couple times, but I reckon I should make myself known once more! Love the blog Y!

  132. Marci

I am a little late commenting but hi! I love following your life’s ups and downs. I have been reading your blog for years. So sorry that I have never commented.

  133. Staz

Lurker and commenter #287 here. I expect an email response by morning. 😉
Kidding, kidding. I’ve been reading for a while and love the way you tell a story. *waves* Hi!

  134. Anonymous G

    265 comments????? Wow, that’s awesome!
I used to lurk somewhat quietly a few years ago when I had some serious free-time. (I haven’t been around for a long time. Your blog has grown and is beautiful! )
I enjoyed your writing. Made me laugh out loud so many times when I needed it most! I just HAPPENED to visit you again today after all this time.
So Happy Belated Delurking day from
    Anonymous G.
    🙂

  135. Ξ_Heather

Delurking because if I’ve commented it’s been rare indeed! But I normally check daily, and reading your blog makes me laugh, which is good medicine indeed!

  136. Jessie

I leave comments but I don’t do it often…. so I’m delurking. I don’t have any readers at my new blog so I can’t do delurking.

  137. Luann

Hi I’m new here. Linked from another blog I read but can’t remember which one now! I’m Luann and I live in NE Pennsylvania! Nice to meet you. 🙂

  138. marjorie

Hi, I read you a lot and comment sometimes. You are very funny and you crack me up, but I understand and sympathize with your serious stuff too. I’m Lutheran and my husband is a pastor (Lutheran Church Canada.) I’m a school music teacher and an artist. You are welcome to look at my website. It’s http://www.paintedtomato.ca I promise I will comment more from now on.

  139. Jessie

Hi! I pop in from time to time and love reading your blog! Unfortunately I have been sucking at reading other people’s blogs these days.

  140. Shannon

Hey there Y! We’ve exchanged a few emails and YES I’m still reading, laughing, crying, splurting various liquids out my nose at your blog! I’ve also switched from plain latin aerobics to ZUMBA!

  141. SC

Yeah…I’m like a week late delurking, but lemme just tell ya, that’s how I live my whole life. I’m late for everything.
I think I delurked last year here, but I’m not sure. I have a little blog, if it even qualifies as a blog…and I left the link to it, but I don’t put much on there, I need to learn to be a good blogger. But anyway, I read this site EVERY DAY. I love reading your stories, and I relate to you in many, many ways!
Sorry this is a week late, you probably won’t even see it! lol!
Anyway, congratulations on an awesome blog, Y.

Did I ever mention how I am chronically late?
Anyway, I have been caught up with crazy life for a few weeks, but I wanted to say hello. I really enjoy your blog and I can relate to much of it. Today’s busy paced lives don’t allow for the communal social networking that existed for generations before, but thankfully we can still find our “village” to raise our children, or ourselves, lol, through blogs like yours.
