PMS.
Respect it.
Educate yourself on it.
Do not belittle it.
Do not mock it. Do not take it lightly.
Do NOT ever say “oh, it must be that time of that month.” That’s just ignorant.

The most common physical and emotional symptoms associated with PMS include:
Weight gain from fluid retention
Abdominal bloating
Breast tenderness
Tension or anxiety
Depression
Crying spells
Mood swings and irritability or anger
Appetite changes and food cravings
Joint or muscle pain
Nausea
Vomiting
Headache
Difficulty concentrating
Fatigue
It is not fun. It is not an excuse to be a bitch.
It’s a real medical condition, God damn it.
When the fuck are men going to stop being pricks about it and understand it?
Damn.
I’m thinking of asking all women who suffer from PMS to take a picture of your bloated belly, send it to me and we’ll have a PMS-a-thon and raise money for awareness of the condition. Who’s in?
(and I know that not ALL men are insensitive to it, so don’t bother scolding me about that… there are far more who think it’s a big joke then there are those who really understand it)

    I thought… no more PMS after the hysterectomy. After four weeks of swollen ankles, tender boobs, and irritibility WITH hot flashes… guess what? PMS! Back to the doc on wednesday since it looks like I gotta get back on estrogen. It all sucks.

    Add thigh spasms to that list. My friend gets those instead of menstrual cramps. So she has trouble walking or exercising before and during her period. As a cycle calendar-keeping (for my wife) Prednisone user I totally understand SOME of the things you ladies go through every month. Regardless I’m totally sensitive about all of it.     My ex roommate, whenever I would get pissy with him about something (ie owing me tons of money, not doing the dishes, trying to fuck me even though I have a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend) would be all “EXCUSE ME… you must be PMSing!”. As if the only reason in the world I would have for being in a bad mood would be PMS. One day he was pissed off at me, for being pissed off at him, and made the PMS remark. So I answered with “Oh, and the reason for your bad mood must be SRH?”
    “Huh?” “Sperm Retention Headache”.

    Amen! Nothing frive me crazier than to have someone that knows NOTHING about PMS and what is like (a man) to blame anything on the fact I have PMS. That is the last thing a man should do. My ex did that consistently. My guy now knows better. He is a prince!
